CoE Training - major pillar of the European HPC training landscape

The CoEs organise and coordinates a diverse HPC education and training programme that is a mainstay of the European HPC training landscape. They typically offer HPC training targeted at various scientific domains, catering for both user and developer communities of HPC software applications. The training offerings often allows the participants to work actively on codes with a large component of hands-on sessions. The CoEs have also developed a significant online resource for remote learning, where users can view past training sessions, materials as well as take advantage of content developed for self-learning. Below you can find the upcoming CoE training events as well as online resources that are offered by all the HPC CoEs.

HPC CoE Training Registry

Do you need to find upcoming training events and aren’t sure where to look? Our training registry lists training events from all active HPC CoEs.

HPC Software Training Templates

Are you a trainer looking to improve your instructional materials? FocusCoE has developed template training materials that follow the established “Software Carpentry” model of instruction for teaching how to run HPC applications at scale. These materials, while useful in themselves for teaching two specific codes, can also be easily adapted to other applications and user communities. The two samples are available online:

LAMMPS (a molecular dynamics code)

Workshops for the European HPC Training community

FocusCoE organized two workshops directed at stakeholders of European HPC training and education.

pan-European HPC Training Stakeholder Workshop

on 8th Oct 2019 in Brussels, organised in conjunction with the European Commission, attracting 32 participants. Details are described in FocusCoE Deliverable D4.3.
