- BioExcel CoE provides the necessary solutions for long-term support of the biomolecular research communities in academia and industry: fast and scalable software, user-friendly automation workflows and a support base of expert core developers on biomolecular modelling to industry challenges such as drug discovery The main services offered by the center include hands-on training, tailored customization of code, personalized consultancy support and community outreach activities.

CompBioMed is a Centre of Excellence focused on the use and development of computational methods for bio-medical applications. They have users within academia, industry and clinical environments and are working to train more people in the use of their products and methods (https://www.compbiomed.eu/).

Online HPC allocation requests to gain access to several large scale HPC resources
To get access to these resources:
- Pilot projects focused on industrially oriented problems
- Industrial involvement and participation in E-CAM state-of-the-art and scoping workshops
- Broker for industry
- Assist on business decision as to whether computational methods can be effectively applied to a given problem with good cost/benefit ratio
- Define of the most appropriate modelling strategy for a given problem within and across the scientific areas of E-CAM
- Survey existing methods to establish whether a given modelling strategy requires new developments or can be enacted with existing tools
- Evaluate the accuracy of available methods for a given problem
- Develop, document, validate and benchmark of new software, for packages structured by combining modules already present in the E-CAM repositories or of interfaces with community codes belonging to the E-CAM partnership
- Assist in selecting the most appropriate hardware architecture
- The actions above should not be seen as disjointed activities. As we have seen the extended software development workshops address both the training and the algorithmic innovation transversal themes. Nor will E-CAM operate in a vacuum. Just as the E-CAM actions enhance and complement each other, so too E-CAM will exploit synergies and overlaps with other Centers of Excellence and HPC initiatives.

- The baseline of EXCELLERAT is formed upon different areas of expertise in which the founding centres have long-term experience on the ecosystem
- Consulting and Support for the Technological Convergence towards efficient Large Scale Engineering Simulations
- The EXCELLERAT consortium provides consulting for software and systems co-design by means of its cross-competence co-design working group. On the software co-design side, based on the reference codes and other relevant applications and libraries of the engineering workflow, the operations, kernels and algorithmic features are characterized thatare common and widely used in engineering applications and which demand large amounts of computational time.
- On the hardware side EXCELLERAT is cooperating via its interest groups with original equipment manufacturers and system integrators considering the complete hardware bandwidth from standard x86_64 architectures over ARM, graphic processing units (GPUs) and NEC Vector processors down to field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs).

- MaX offers a set of services for a variety of users, including entry-level users in industry and academia. In particular, the main “on-demand” consulting services are:
- Help-desk for basic support assistance for requests in the materials science domain.
- High Level Consultancy service supports the end-users in using the MAX flagship codes. The service helps, generally, in finding ad-hoc solutions for the users (best parameters for the optimal run on a given architecture, performance optimization, ...), and possibly it comprises code development (new features/algorithms)
- Given the offers tha MaX delivers to its users, consulting is guaranteed also for “Container technology for HPC systems”, “Turn-key materials solutions” and “Simulations on premises and in the cloud”.
